Read a rangefinder maximum and accuracy claim separately

Read maximum range, accuracy scope and physical dimensions without turning them into a flag-acquisition guarantee.

A maximum range is not every target's guaranteed range

Read the maximum-distance claim and its accuracy conditions as separate specifications. Bushnell's Tour V6/V6 Shift manual lists a range of 5–1300 yards and describes accuracy of plus or minus 1 yard to 500 yards. Those statements have different scopes; the maximum range should not silently inherit an accuracy condition stated for a shorter interval. They are manufacturer claims for the named devices, not our test results. The archived GolfBuddy photograph shows a different GPS technology and generation, so it cannot demonstrate the laser model's targeting, maximum range or accuracy.

Keep the complete specification wording

The manual's metric range field is 5–1189 m. Preserve that manufacturer field rather than presenting your own rounded unit conversion as if it were an independent product specification. Other listed fields include 6× magnification and a 24 mm objective diameter. These identify optical characteristics, not proof that a particular flag will be acquired under your own conditions. A specification comparison should keep the exact model and source date with each field and distinguish a documented value from a seller's abbreviated description. Do not invent a real-world target test to fill a gap in the documentation.

Separate the body from the carry arrangement

The shared manual lists a 114 mm by 78 mm by 41 mm body. It gives the Tour V6 weight as 241 g and the Shift version as 246 g. The nominal difference is 5 g, but a case, strap or other carried items would need their own record. The bag photograph makes that larger inventory tangible, while the headcover image shows that protective accessories can be separate items with different shapes. Neither establishes the dimensions or protective performance of the rangefinder's actual case. Keep physical fit and the complete carried package separate from the optical specification.

Check the power and handling instructions for the actual model

The manual identifies a CR2 lithium battery for these devices. Preserve the exact instructions for replacement, storage and handling rather than borrowing a procedure from an older GPS device or another laser model. A stated battery type is not a tested battery-life claim, and an included-item list does not establish what a particular Australian seller supplies. Follow the product's laser-safety instructions and do not treat a purchasing worksheet as an operating demonstration. If the package or device differs from the documented version, identify that difference before applying its specifications or accessories.

Turn the comparison into a precise purchase question

A useful shortlist says which specification matters to your intended use, what the official manual states and what remains unverified. It does not rank products by the largest maximum-range number alone. Keep Australian delivered price, warranty terms and included accessories with the actual seller offer, because an international manual cannot establish local stock or a complete AUD quotation. If a practical target question matters, seek appropriate exact-model evidence rather than extrapolating a guarantee from the limit of a table. The finished record should make the claim's boundaries clearer, not convert a catalogue maximum into a promise.
